Sad and dangerous news!  On September 14, 2017, the U.S. House of Representatives passed an appropriations bill which strikes down the wonderful new aid-in-dying law now in effect in Washington, DC, our nation's capital.  In particular, the bill includes the Harris amendment, that would repeal Washington DC's "Death With Dignity Act."

Calls and letters are urgently needed to our senators.  Tell them to keep the repeal of DC's aid in dying law out of the Senate's version of the appropriations bill.

The DC aid in dying law was passed in November of 2016, and went into effect in February, 2017.  Read more about the law here...

If evil and hypocritical members of Congress succeed in overturning Washington DC's aid in dying law, they will come after our state laws next. It's a simple matter of human rights and self-determination. The DC law was passed by an overwhelming majority in the DC city council, was signed by Mayor Muriel Bowser. The US Congress should butt out and respect the will of the residents of Washington DC.

News flash from Compassion & Choices
Resolution condemning aid-in-dying introduced in US House

On October 6, 2017, Compassion & Choices reported that ten members of the US House of Representatives have introduced a resolution to condemn the practice of medical aid in dying.

If this resolution is adopted, per se it won't change any laws, but it will further embolden our opponents to attack them.  Please let your representative in Congress know to oppose any such resolution.
